First off thank you Wayne Lee for your excellence sevice on my watch purchase last week....I've read a few posts on this forum about just how "bullet proof" the movement is in the 6309 series of dive watches which started me thinking about some of the abuse I've dealt out to my watch...without getting too technical about diving the first example that came to mind...I was taking a 3/4" test boring on a cracked bridge pileing with a right angle hydrauluc drill... I had the r.p.m.'s and torque set pretty high when the drill overrode my grip and slammed my left wrist into the side of the piling.... of course the Seiko caught the full impact and I ended up with a broken bone in my wrist..No damage what so ever to the 6309..I was in the habit of wearing a 22mm nylon strap on the watch...with a piece of surgical tubing wrapped over the watch to protect the crystal and to prevent the bezel from moveing...example #2 I was working with a jet barge in the Gulf of Mexico(which ditches and covers the layed gas/oil pipe)... I was using a hand jet with about 600p.s.i. when another diver accidently snagged the supply hose and caused me to loose my footing... which jetted some of the sleeve off my overalls and put quite a hole in my wet suit...plus jetted the bezel off the Seiko ...no apparent harm came to the watch.. even though it served me up some skin rash...so in my case the Seiko 6309-7049 may out last the human body.. make no mistake..the 6309-7049 is one hard watch.
