manufacture date of 6105

I have been trying to establish the man' date of 2 6105-8110 with the following serial numbers

651693

711829

I am told the manufacture of these stated in 1968 therefore the first number 6 and 7 must be 1976 and 1977.

However I have been told 1966 & 1967.

Any ideas ?
