well, my first venture into Ti, and a mini review (question or 2 at end)....
The subject is an SKX421 200m Titanium, overall I like it!
PLUSES:
The dial is a true black. Not dark charcoal, dakr grey etc. The hands and markers are not too fat, so the dial
doesnt look cluttered. The screw crown operates in a smooth refined manner, a distinct improvement over the 173 I had. The crystal is flat, so glare issues you have with a 300m are not as pronounced. Mine (bought used) came on a 20mm curved vent rubber. It's now on a
modified w'borne, Rhino coming. A full size watch w/o the bulk, I compared it to a coworker's 781 today, the 421 is noticably smaller, at least in perception. It still measures 42mm measured '2' to '8'. The bezel
ratchets smoothly.
MINUSES:
The bezel with it's raised indices is bit too Tag Heuer-ish. I wonder if an 007/173 or better yet, an
SDWE23P bezel can be put on? Can a steel bezel go on a Ti watch?
OVERALL
Haven't decided if this will be a desk diver or a true salt water submersible yet, It's right for either role. It's a comfy one thuogh!
