OK, before I started looking at this forum, I had never heard of the 6306. 6309's had been bombproof at work in the 80's replaced by the 7002's in the 90's. Well, haven gotten bitten bad by the "bug", I started looking for a 6306. All I could find (but not obtain) were 6306-7001's. Each had a sn dating it 70 1978 or 1979 (n of about 7 watches). This is smack dab in the middle of the posted 1976 to 1981 years of production for the movement in the new (and awesome and much appreciated diver database). Well, then I found on a japanese site, a 6306-7000. sn dated it to 1977. All I have been able to find out since (and not found another one!) is that it is the same watch, same intention for japan only market, but that in 1978, seiko hit some year mark, and the case was re-numbered 7001 from 7000.
So, there you have, you completeist who have not yet found a 6306-7001 (like myself) and think that is hard, try and find a 6306-7000, limited to two years of japan only market production!
