..than the standard one, and no, they aren't big enough to make the bezel look 'out of round'.
There is a small disadvantage with them though: if the bezel is set in the 'normal' position (i.e. with the triangle at 12), the tab at 4 o'clock makes uncrewing and screwing the crown a bit finicky. I get over this by just turning the bezel slightly if I have to use the crown, and then resetting it to the 'normal' position afterwards. It only takes a second to do.
Overall, I'd say the advantages of the solid steel bezel on the 171 outweigh any disadvantages. Have no fear!
