for giving my original post some thought. As I stated my only conclusion as to the dot placement was to assure that the movement was working. I really thought that the engineers would desire to make the second hand useful for more than that. However I was not aware of the counterbalance issue (which makes good sense). I simple assumed that since none was needed on the heavier hour & min. hands that the lighter sec. hand would call for no special treatment. I'm sure that the added revs and speed must come into play here as well. What about the mounting, is it to a smaller, more fragile pipe?
