Is the SKX779 based on an old design?
Hi All,
Long time no see. I've been moving and travelling and otherwise occupied so I haven't been around for a bit but now I have a question.
I recently met a well travelled, well known internet watch guy who was admiring my SKX779. He assured me that it was based on an old design and later "remembered" that it is the Seiko Diver 300 (?). I've never heard of such a watch (unless he meant the 300 Meter Diver which it is clearly not related to designwise) but didn't want to tell him he's mistaken without some confirmation from the experts. So what say ye? Is the SKX779 a new design or a reissue of an old one?

- Perhaps "inspired by" the 300m diver's rather than a "reissue" (scans) - Ryan - 2001-10-18 20:55:00
