i did exactly that
I bought my skx009 on chronograph.com then bought a jubilee bracelet for $30 on ebay. they were both brand new. I switch between the bracelet, the rubber strap and a waterbourne depending on my whim at the moment, although i find my rubber strap not as comfortable as the bracelet or the waterbourne. Getting the 009, then a separate bracelet is definately the way to go for both cost and the ability to change the entire look of the watch.
