Seiko 6309 Diver story
Hi all,
I've been reading all the posts on the Seiko 6309 divers and increased interest in them over the last year or 2 so I thought I would share my experience. I picked mine up in the winter of 1986, soon after my daughter was born. I had been in the USAF for 3 years (have 19 years in now) and noticed them on quite a few wrists on other USAF members. They looked so cool, I splurged and bought one from the BX for $110. For years it was the only watch I owned and has never missed a beat. Only in the last 3 years have I started accumulating other watches and the 6309 gets some time off now and then. I even had the movement overhauled a few months ago, not because it wasn't keeping time but because I figured it was about time for one (16 years). I asked my watchmaker how the movement was and he said it was a little dry but otherwise in excellent shape. What more can you ask from a watch at any price?
I'm curious as to how many others on this forum bought Seiko divers years ago and still own them?
Regards,
Mark
