Yep...I hadn't noticed it before but there is a slight bevel on the edge of the date window on the 007J and no bevel on the 173. It appears by eye that the dial itself is a little thicker on the 007J. That could be only the effect of the bevel but it sure does look thicker.
I had to get out in the sun to really see the difference and I noticed when I came back inside that the markers and hands on the 173 were glowing with a more pronounced green than the 007J AND that they were considerably brighter! This effect seems to be holding after a half hour.
Previously I had compared the luminosity only after exposing the watches to room light and had not noticed a real difference. There's no doubt though that the 173 has a brighter and greener display than the 007J.
