Richie, these "professional" watches are certainly made to ...
be used! They use special rubber seals called "L packing" (seals). Only a very small number of helium atoms can penetrate the seals -- making a He relief value unnecessary. This is an exclusive Seiko technology, first released in 1975. Believe me, in Japan there are plenty of professional divers who use these watches for what they are intended for.
