the ETA 2824 is a crackin lil movement.i have it in various guises in my swiss watches.brightling use it in their super ocean pro (1500M water resist) and i have it in a tissot PR100 diver.the reason why yours has a "smoother" sweep than the seiko is simply because of the higher beat of the balance.it moves the second hand by smaller increments at a higher frequency thus achieveing the same over all speed as lower beat watches.the arguable advantage of a higher beat watch is that it will be more stable and therefore easier to regulate to within greater tollerences.hope that mumbo-jumbo helped a little.again, many thanks on a well thought out review
