By the way, someone questioned yesterday whether it's worth spending the money to buy a watch and having the restoration done - THE ANSWER IS "YES"!!! Now I'll have these watches for another 25+ years and love every minute of it.
I sent Randall my trusty (old) Seiko quartz diver (first generation quartz movement) which I have had for 25+ years. I did some real damage to it - never had anything replaced on it. As you can see from the scan, Randall made it look like new - I actually cannot recall the watch looking "new" - it's been a long time. Randall did everything to the watch - fully relumed too.
Next, Randall restored my 6309 to NOS condition - just incredible. That 6309s keep incredible time and are highly regulatable. The watch had everything done to it.
Finally, Randall fixed-up the 6138-8020 which IMO is maybe the best all around chrono (maybe the best all around watch) for looks and movement. The 6138s are just great - you can manual wind and auto wind the watch, they keep incredible time when adjusted and are trully comparable (as Seikos typically are) to Swiss chronos that cost thousands $$ more. Randall, you did incredible job on the 6138 - it's beautiful.
Thanks for all your work!
Rob
