Re: 6105-8000, 7-digit serial numbers and "JAPAN X"
Hi all,
I was just reading through the "Seiko Diver Reference" page (wonderful site from Kevin Chan) and came across a nice, though unfinished, thread on these items. Well, my "new" 6105-8000 fits the thread and I was wondering if any resolution to the questions had been found:
My watch info:
6105-8000 WATER PROOF (on caseback)
8723480
JAPAN X
6105A mvmt (does not hack)
dial says "WATER 150m PROOF"
OK, do I read the 7 digit serial number in the same way as a 6 digit.... 1968, July, #23,480?
What does the "X" signify?
When did the changes (Water Proof, 7 to 6, etc) take place?
Just how rare is this thing?
Thanks for reading,
Brandon
