thanks for the additional help and interest guys,....
it is my understanding that the crystals for 6309/6306 and for the 6105-800x/811x are of the same diameter (which I believe Randall said was about 0.5mm larger than skx series)
The flat, beveled third model crystal is obviously different than the domed second model stage one and two crystal. But, it is also my understanding that a 6105 crystal will, well, not retrofit, but advance fit into a third model diver.
I have offered Bill Yao the loan of a 6309-7040, 6105-8000, and 6105-8119, each to the best of my evaluation appears to have all original parts and crystal to assist with this and am awaiting the reply. Hopefully this will help design one sapphire domed crystal which will fit 6309-704x's, 6309-729x's, 6306-700x's, 6105-800x's, and 6105-811x's.
If this should be possible and occur, I think that with a bunch of yahoos like you all around, the problem will not so much be a large enough demand to make a run, as it will be will the run be large enough to meet demand!
