The 7002 was replaced by the 7S26/36...
and it is not being produced anymore. Don't really know how they decide what gets made where, given that Singapore is pretty near to Japan.
Some mid range kinetics are actually assembled in Singapore ("Movement Japan" on the dials and cases) hence the argument that all the cheap ones are made in Singapore would not be valid.
My guess would be making watches in Singapore would cost a lot less than making them in Japan hence boosting Seiko's profitability in the long run.
