The Oil industry is a potential dangerous business, after 22 years with British Petroleum as a Safety Engineer, I consider myself lucky to have survived many "close calls" We were enroute with a joint Royal -Dutch shell safety team to the North Sea. Weather got very bad...very quick and we had to turn around to go back to the Norwegian coast, did not make it. We were rescued with no loss of life, but several injuries by the Norwegian Coast Guard. The Refinery was at the BP refinery in France and a heat exchanger exploded. The plane crash was another weather/pilot error (not me)
Lucky for us a nice stand of Alder trees to cushion our landing somewhat......
