Even in Japan there are a lot of those Omega divers around which you mentioned. But, I don't come across a 1st Seiko diver too often.

I believe I saw in "The Seiko Book" that the original price for your diver was 13,000 yen, which was a lot back then, but not as much as an Omega. Perhaps those who originally bought these early Seiko divers used them pretty hard for some years and then threw them out, whereas those who bought the more expensive Omegas tended to take better care of their investment so there are more around now.
