um, servicing the keyless works without removing the dial?
Hi Randall,
I agree with you that these are fairly different animals. I don't understand the comment about the placement of the keyless works in the 7S26 being a big innovation though.
If you are servicing the keyless works, it seems like it's easier to remove the hands and dial to get to them than it would be to remove the main plate and clean and relubricate the entire automatic system and power train. I don't think moving the keyless works is a mistake or a bad idea, I just don't think it's a great innovation so much as something that was necessitated by the layout of the calendar and quickset mechanisms and facillitated by the simplified nature of the keyless levers. Luckily the keyless works are so rugged and stable that they are unlikely to need much attention anyway.
Just my opinion of course.
