I just received a 6105-8000. Great shape. In fact once I replace the bezel insert it will be a strong 9. The case back has been gouged in two places though. Someone got a little over zealous trying to open her up. I've never personally seen a -8000 with such a cherry dial. The lum still lights, albeit rather softly. Here's what I need help on:
1) The serial number is seven digits (91019XX)
I checked my other -8000, and my -8009, and both of them have 6 digit serial numbers.
2) The case back is stamped Japan X below the serial #.
Both my other 800Xs are stamped Japan G.
Any ideas? Could you fellow 6105-800X owners check out your case backs, and let me know what you've got? I've never seen Japan X on any of my Seiko's, so I'm damn curious to know the story. I'd post pix, but the ones the seller had weren't that great. Oh yeah, goin' camera shoppin' tomorrow! Wish me luck. TFL - TIA
Happy Hunting!
