Thank you for your input on the Seiko SKX173. I like the rectangular hour markers over the round ones that are featured in most diver watches. Though I am not a scuba diver, I think the round hour markers are more practical for scuba diving but the rectangular markers are more elegant. I understand the 173 has been around for 20 years and has a good track record; this is what I was told by a vendor. I am curious to know why a scuba diver would want a quartz watch? What would be the average life span of the battery? Also, it seems to me that every time a battery needs to be changed I understand the watch has to go to the factory to be re pressurized to 200 meters. Are automatic watches smaller or bigger than quartz watches? Does the automatic type like the 173 require more maintenance than a quartz watch? Lastly, what made you chose the 173 over it quartz cousins and the Citizen Eco Drive. I like the Citizen Eco Drive AP0440-06H but it does not have a "day" feature (only "date") and, again, for me, the rectangular hour markers for me appear to be more elegant than the round (larger one's) though I do believe the round hour markers are more practical for visual accuity if one is a scuba diver. Thanks again for your input.
Regards.
Bob
