is precisely what made me change my everyday beater from my old 6309-7040 to a new 007K. Before recently moving to Tennessee, I was a Firefighter/Rescue Technician with Columbia SC's Fire Department for 5 years on the Heavy Rescue. One of our disciplines was Swiftwater Rescue in the Saluda River (Class V rapids). Tho my old banger never gave me any problems during my earlier Army years, the most I ever put it through then (submersion-wise) was a few river-crossings and helo-casts. One day while training with Rescue 1 in the Saluda R. my partner mentioned the big ole difference between static depth and the dynamics of swiftwater (I have always benefited from having partners smarter than me). I never really had any problems using the old Seiko, but the peace of mind I get now from having the added protection of a 200m doesn't hurt a bit. Now when I head out on my Carlson board on the Little River in the Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park, I feel better knowing that my new beater is that much more capable of handling the rigors of swiftwater.
Just my 2 cents worth.
