I have restored many of these 6309's. (There are others here who have done more than myself).
No doubt your watch can be made to look like new again. If the movement is still OK, it is worth it. It may be worth it to you in any event, but you may have some wear in the movement due to the absence of lube and the almost certain presence of some dirt. It is amazing that the watch has never flooded or fogged. Hopefully no seawater got in. If that is true I'd say $200 should cover your restoration. Given that these watches are worth $300 restored you have a $100 watch there if the guts are not worn out.
Problem is, after she looks so good, you may feel like you don't want to mark it up again. (typical trailer queen reaction).
