I just wanted to say thanks for the comments from all above as well as the quick response. I actually have several amazing stories revolving how this watch either survived an accident or was involved in my life in some fashion. Imagine something that has been with you over HALF your life!
Indeed, it has seen many things some too insane to report! Heh... ie _How many watches get picked up by an angry girlfriend and are thrown off a third floor porch, bouncing off the cement sidewalk 30ft below, landing in the street, another five feet away?! It didnt miss a beat (but I have scars on the left side of case from that one...and a few bumps on the head...dont ask)_.
I taught sailing for seven years during and after University and this watch was used in every which way from timing race starts to capsize drills! It even disappeared for two months when I gave it to a student to hold while timing an event, after which they disappeared and headed back inland (_took me this long to track them down and give them my address - He felt bad but had actually started wearing it himself and grown attached. His conscience won over and he mailed it back with apologies_).
On another crazy note, this watch served as my COOKING timer till the bezel became too faded to read! It took me awhile to break that habit, even when I couldnt read it, just going by the top dot and imagining the markings! Many people suggested getting a new bezel but I just couldnt bear to replace it.
There are many other stories as well...Too many! I would never sell this watch but almost seems sad to retire the beast. It really is a part of my life, as sad as it sounds!
